I’ve quit hiding my wastebaskets in the corner or under the cabinet. It all started on a trip to HomeGoods when I saw this fabulous flower pot. As soon as I spotted it, I knew it was perfect for my recently made-over office. The perfect color and great shape . . . but could it be a wastebasket? Why not?

These flower pots are gorgeous. They’re too beautiful to stash away for cold weather. Instead, it might be better to find a place for them inside the house, even if they serve as waste receptacles.

If you don’t love the flower pot idea, try using a metal bin or basket as a stylish way to throw things away.
Using a woven basket with a lid can add a nice touch for your wastebasket needs.

Or just any gorgeous, colorful basket. Baskets are perfect for paper trash. They’re lightweight and so much more decorative than your typical plastic bin.

This fabric basket is my favorite choice for the laundry room. It’s the ideal place to toss a stray receipt you find in a pocket, tags on new clothing or even dryer lint.
